Your newborn session should take place when your baby is between 7 and 21 days old. Any older, and your little one will be more challenging to pose and less likely to snooze happily for most of the shoot. Don’t worry if your newborn arrives later or earlier than expected! Your session date is flexible, and we’ll be sure to fit you in.

Be aware of where to go.

Tisha Landrum Photography is located in Camp Hill, Pa.  The studio is in the greater Harrisburg, Pa area.  There are plenty of places within a few blocks like Rite Aid, Cvs, a few restaurants and Giant Foods. Don’t worry if you forgot something.  The in home studio is cozy.  There is plenty of room for Mom & Dad to relax.  When you arrive please park in the drive way.  I like my clients to do their best to arrive on time.

Choose baby’s outfit and accessories.

The perfect wardrobe for a newborn? Nothing! You want your images to capture those tiny fingers and toes, sweet little rolls of fat, and soft baby skin. But be sure to dress your newborn in an outfit that’s easy to take off and put on again. For Charlie’s Newborn Baby session I chose to use antique Bowl & Bucket prop from Antique Market Place in Lemoyne, PA, little brown romper, hand made pillow & orange sleepy cap from DeDe Props, and felted Fox made by Lana & Wren and a Shaggy Fur from MAMA Knits. You may also want to bring along some accessories or sentimental items that hold special meaning for you and your family, like a blanket that’s been in your family for generations or a toy from your childhood. Items like this are a great way to add personal detail to your images.  Tisha has plenty of vintage props, wraps, etc. available in the studio for parents to choose for use in their photos.

Determine your own look.

Even though the photos will mostly be of your little one, you’ll want photos of the two of you as well! Take some time to choose your own wardrobe—go for something simple and comfortable. Makeup is definitely not required, but a little touching up can help you feel fresh and at east in front of the camera. It also helps to use a few basic hair products to keep strays in place. But don’t worry too much about your appearance. After all, the focus will be on your adorable new addition!

Don’t change your routine.

To keep your little one happy, don’t change their diet or daily routine before your session. Continue with your regular feedings, and don’t forget to pack plenty of bottles for the shoot if you formula-feed.

Be prepared for a warm studio

I keep the heat on high—around 80 degrees—to make sure your newborn is warm and comfortable, but it may be a little toasty for you! Be sure to dress comfortably or wear layers you can easily remove. Talk to older siblings If you have older children, it can be so much fun to include them in the newborn session! Just be sure to talk to them beforehand about listening to the photographer and behaving during the shoot. And don’t forget to pack some non-messy snacks as well!

What to Pack

Not sure what you need to bring to your newborn session? I’ve put together this checklist to help you pack everything you need in your diaper bag! Plenty of diapers and wipes: Accidents happen, and you’ll want to be prepared. Extra outfits for you and baby: Again, it’s best to be prepared! Bring extra clothes for you and your little one, just in case there’s an accident and you need a change. Pacifiers: Don’t be surprised if baby gets a little fussy between shots, so bring along some pacifiers. Bottles: Be sure to bring enough bottles and formula for three to four feedings throughout your session. And if you’re nursing, it doesn’t hurt to bring some supplementary bottles just in case! Sentimental items: Don’t forget to pack your old baby toy, a family heirloom blanket, or any other items that are special to you. These mementos make great additions to your images!

Choosing your images

After your session we will schedule a time for you within 2 weeks to come back in to the studio for your viewing and ordering session.  I will have a slide show of about 30 fully retouched images for you to choose from.  I will also have a newborn album designed for you to view.  Part of my baby photography process is helping you decide how to display your beautiful professional portraits in your home.  After deciding on what you would like to purchase you will pay for your order.  I will spend the next few days going back through your images to make sure they are absolutely perfect.  I then sends out your order for processing.  Typically orders take 2-3 weeks.  Of course I will also hand deliver your order for you!   If you have purchased any wall art I professionally hang your purchases for you too!  How cool is that!

Where To Go For Your Session

As a Camp Hill area photographer, I love it when opportunities come along to schedule photography sessions for senior pictures in unique places.   I had no reservations about photographing near the Rockville Bridge in Marysville, PA.  I was so excited to have the opportunity to work with Ben.   We took some of Ben’s senior portrait session around our home we grew up in also.  Both places did not disappoint!

Picking A Location

With so many location options to choose from, sometimes my clients have a tough time trying to decide on the perfect place for their senior pictures. Pennsylvania is so beautiful and has a wide range of location options: Urban, Garden, High Mountains, Country, Natural, Rustic, Lakes, Waterfalls… The variety just doesn’t quit. Narrowing it down to just one location is almost impossible. So, when I work with clients like Matt, who has such unique taste, I make them him feel special and let him have his own unique experience!  I hope he looks back one day and has such fond memories of his session with me.  Matt surely is near and dear to my heart and I will cherish the time we got to spend with him and his Mom & Dad over the years!

What’s Your Vision?

Our senior portrait sessions are designed around each of our clients. It’s about bringing your high school senior’s vision to life.  We provide a one-of-a-kind session that perfectly captures this monumental moment in their lives. That’s what being young and free is all about!  For more info, please visit my seniors page.

Maternity Photographer Near Camp Hill Outdoor maternity Photo Shoot

Tisha Landrum is a Maternity Photographer Near Camp Hill, PA.  Tisha Landrum Photography gives some insight to Lifestyle maternity Sessions at home.

Sessions take place in and around your home

Maternity Photo Sessions with your pets and or children can be very fun, intimate & comfortable.  Maternity Photography at home aims to capture a day in the life and is all about your baby bump!

Belly shots are some of my favorites for a lot of reasons. They have definitely gotten a bad rap over the years and we’ve all seen the ‘what not to do’ images on those funny websites, but really they can be so beautiful. Being pregnant is a time of anticipation, change and excitement…all of which should be documented!

Lifestyle Maternity Photography Sessions are a wonderful way to get to know new parents before you work with their precious newborn. Maternity Portrait sessions with other children or pets (especially toddlers) are a whole other ball game… but these sessions can be fun and exciting too!

When should maternity sessions take place?

We want to ‘see the bump’ so this might depend on whether or not it’s a first pregnancy. I typically recommend the middle of the last trimester and hopefully around 35 weeks. Once you reach that point, things start to get uncomfortable – getting up and down is tough work and it’s hard to feel ‘pretty’. If you’ve been pregnant in the past, try to think back and remember. If you do the session too early in the pregnancy you might not be able to tell there is a bump.  I am usually in constant communication with my new moms all during your last trimester.  I like to check in with you frequently to see how you are feeling & give emotional support since I’ve been in your shoes myself!

If you’re expecting a baby or already a parent and looking for a newborn, maternity, or family photographer, I would love to work with you to create images that you will love for a lifetime.  Schedule a consultation to hear about my philosophy and see how I work in the studio & outdoors so you can determine if I’m the right fit for you. I can’t wait to meet you!

Harrisburg Baby Photography | How to Prepare for a Stress-Free Family Photo Session

Tisha Landrum provides Harrisburg Baby Photography Tips.  How to prepare for a stress – free family photo session.  Having a professional family photo session is a great way to create memories for a lifetime. A family session can be a fun and playful time for you and your kids, but it can also be stressful, especially when it comes to getting everyone dressed and ready to go. Check out these tips for taking the stress out of your family photo session.  For more info on Harrisburg Baby Photography or to see more of Tisha’s work visit her on Facebook.

Harrisburg Baby Photography Harrisburg Baby Photography Harrisburg Baby Photography Harrisburg Baby Photography Harrisburg Baby Photography Harrisburg Baby Photography Harrisburg Baby Photography Harrisburg Baby Photography Harrisburg Baby Photography Harrisburg Baby Photography Harrisburg Baby Photography Harrisburg Baby Photography Harrisburg Baby PhotographyTalk to your kids.
The best way to prepare your children for a photo session is to tell them what to expect. Help them understand the importance of following the photographer’s directions and smiling when asked. Most importantly, try to make them see how fun the session can be. After all, you want to capture your family enjoying spending time together!

Pick out your outfits early.
You may not want every member of your family to match perfectly, but you don’t want the colors in their clothes to clash. Try to choose outfits for each of you that coordinate—similar styles and all in the same color palette. Plus, having your outfits chosen in advance will save you time on the day of the session.

Make sure everyone is comfortable.
Even if you have visions of your kids dressed in their Sunday best, it’s more important that they’re comfortable. If your children are in overly warm or restrictive clothes, they’re more likely to become irritable and less likely to smile for photos. Be sure to check the weather forecast and choose outfits accordingly.

Work around nap time—and get plenty of rest.
If your kids take a nap during the day, try to schedule your photo session after that time, so everyone will be refreshed. And make sure that you’re well-rested too! You’ll be able to handle small stresses better if you get a good night’s sleep the night before your session.

Above all—have fun!
Do your best to relax and have fun with your family during your photo session. Candid shots with genuine smiles are better than forced grins and will better capture your family’s personalities. Don’t worry too much about the little things and just enjoy being with your children and capturing memories!

Newborn Photographers Near Camp Hill

You’ve chosen a photographer!

Tisha Landrum is one of the Newborn Photographers Near Camp Hill, PA.  Tisha provides some insight on a few things your newborn photographer wants you to know.  You’ve chosen a baby photographer and can’t wait to get photos of the precious new addition to your family! But if you’ve never had a newborn session before, you may not be sure what to expect from the experience. That’s why I want to let you know a few things that photographers wish all their clients knew. Check out some of Baby Wyatt’s adorable images from is session below too.

Just as every family is different, no two babies are exactly alike. One newborn might be perfectly comfortable posed laying on her belly, while another might absolutely hate it. Your photographer will work with you and your newborn to find the positions they’re most comfortable in and will definitely not force your baby into any poses they aren’t willing to do.

Pinterest images can be challenging.

You may have a Pinterest board full of adorable newborn photos, but they might not all work well for your little one or your nursery setup. You may need a specific prop, or your photographer may need a certain kind of lighting equipment to make the image turn out the way you’d like. But, if you have some favorite images you want to recreate, talk to your photographer well in advance so they can do their best to make it happen!

We’ve seen it all.

If your baby pees on the photographer’s set, throws a fit, or just wants to nurse the whole session, don’t be embarrassed. Chances are your photographer has experienced everything from poop all over their props to being peed on. As a newborn photographer, this is their everyday life, and they’re totally understanding. After all, your baby’s needs come before your photos. So, don’t feel like you have to apologize for every little thing that goes wrong. Your photographer is there to support you and work with you.

Newborn Photographers have a lot of tricks up our sleeves.

It can be tempting to swoop in and pick up your newborn as soon as they start crying, but most photographers know a variety of ways to sooth little ones. It’s important for parents to use their newborn session as a time to relax and to trust the photographer. If your baby is truly upset and can’t be calmed down, we’ll be sure to pass them on to you for feeding, diapering, or comfort.

You should feel free to take a break.

As the parent of a newborn, you probably haven’t had a moment to yourself in a while. Well, your photo session is the perfect chance to just sit back and relax. Most of the images will be of your baby, so you get to sit on the sidelines, have a cup of coffee, and maybe finally check your email or return some phone calls. And no judgment if you doze off during the session! I’ll wake you when I need you.

We want you to share our photos.

Photographers take images for you to cherish and enjoy, and we want you to share them! Post those photos of your newborn all over social media and send to family and friends. We want our images to be seen! Just be sure to credit your photographer when you share their images on Facebook or Instagram and feel free to recommend them to other expecting parents!

Our work doesn’t end with your session.

Since everyone has a camera on their phone these days, photographers hear a lot about how anyone can take a photo. But a professional does so much more than simply click a button. We set up backdrops and lighting, and we know all the tricks of the trade to make your photos turn out amazing. And once the session is over, we spend hours editing your photos to make them the absolute best they can be, providing you with images you’ll cherish for a lifetime.

Valentines Day 2021

Valentines Day 2021 | How to Take Better Photos of Your Kids.  Tisha Landrum Provides Tips On How To Take Better Photos Of Your Kids.  (I just bribe with lots of candy mostly 😉 LOL!)

How to Take Better Photos of Your Kids

Parenting young children can be exhausting, but you still want to remember every moment, and photos are a great way to do that. This is my son Ethan.  He’s 3 years old. Any parent knows how difficult it can be to capture pictures of kids who are always in motion—and sometimes throwing a fit. Check out these tips from me (the professional) for taking better photos of your children.  Here are a few cool photos of Ethan from Valentines Day 2021.  Valentines Day 2021 Valentines Day 2021 Valentines Day 2021

Take advantage of natural light.

When taking photos in your home, look for places with plenty of window light. This natural light will help eliminate harsh shadows and give your photos a fresh, even appearance. Plus, what better way to capture images of your children than in the home you share?

Go explore.

Candid photos are a great way to capture your kids’ personalities, and getting outside to explore lets your children get out some energy and allows you to take images of them being their genuine selves.

Ask for help from a friend.

When you’re behind the camera, it can be hard to also get your child’s attention. Consider enlisting a friend or family member to help get your kid to look at you by making fun noises or pulling a goofy face.

Have a camera on hand.

You never know when the moment and the light will be perfect for snapping a few photos. It could be just a simple day at the park or a visit to Grandma and Grandpa, but you’ll value every memory you manage to capture in the future.

Pay attention to everyday moments.

You don’t have to plan a grand photo shoot to create memories of your children. You’ll want to remember the everyday moments too, like bath time or reading a bedtime story. Be sure to capture candid photos of your kids just living life, whether it’s playing or even just eating breakfast.

When it comes to taking photos of your kids, the important thing is capturing their personalities, so you can have images to cherish for years to come. Hopefully, these tips can help you make the most of your photos!

Harrisburg Newborn Photography Of Baby With a pink floral wrap & pink flower headband

Tisha Landrum specializes in professional newborn photography in Harrisburg, PA.  Professional Newborn Photography is typically done within 7-14 days after birth of the baby.  Professional Newborn Photography Sessions last 3-6 hours depending on the baby, I like to work on their schedule. I prefer the baby to be no older than 14 days, to capture those sleepy poses. However, if that is not possible we can absolutely do it a little later. In Person Consultation

The In Person Consultation is an important part of your custom portrait experience.  Since each session is very custom I prefer to meet and discuss things in person.  I can get a feel for what you had in mind for your professional portraits and how you would like me to portray you. I’d love to have you and you over for coffee. I find that’s the very best way to talk through what you are looking for.  During your in person consultation you’ll get a sense of what I offer, and what to expect.

Your Portrait Session

As a Professional baby photographer located near Harrisburg, PA I service all the Mechanicsburg area & surrounding areas like Harrisburg, York, Carlisle, Hershey, New Cumberland, Camp Hill, Enola, Marysville & Lancaster.

Newborn Portrait sessions take place at my residential studio in Camp Hill, Pennsylvania I work with controlled studio lighting and a wonderful selection of custom props and set designs. Wether working in the studio or on location I try to keep a calm and relaxed environment for my clients where you will comfortable with me while I work to  create a look that is timeless and sophisticated.

Newborn sessions can be captured  in my Camp Hill, PA home studio only. At the end of your session, we will book a second date for you to come back to my residential studio for the viewing and ordering session. The viewing and ordering session will be an exciting and personal experience.

Viewing & Ordering Appointment

This is the best part! The Viewing & Ordering Appointment is the time when you get to see all the hard work of the pre-session consultation and our session planning pay off. After your session, I will carefully select the best images for the viewing session. I will compare images and narrow down to the best based on facial expressions, posing, lighting and sharpness.

The viewing session will be an exciting, sometimes emotional and personal experience. Your images are projected onto a large flat screen tv and I will help you select your favorite images and make final decisions on what will look best with your home decor and with your portrait goals.

You will be able to touch and feel the products we offer and see what your images will look like projected onto the walls of your own home using our wall gallery software. I will go over product details and pricing and help you create a beautiful display of your images. I’ll show you actual size and pair images together for a wall portrait, gallery wrap, or heirloom album.
