Kara & Henry’s Engagement Session

Kara & Henry’s engagement session was soooo perfect and also bitter-sweet.  We decided to start photographing the couple in downtown Harrisburg, PA near State Street and the Capital Building.  They wanted to go for a historic look with the city full of such incredible history it made perfect sense.  So off to the city we went for Kara & Henry’s engagement session.  Kara & Henry Harrisburg Engagement Central Pa wedding photographer Harrisburg wedding photographersThis was one incredibly cute and loving couple who fell perfectly into one another every step of the engagement shoot. We wandered down by the river and in and out of little alley ways, and found some really neat looking historic places that served as the perfect backdrops for their portraits.    After we finished up the Harrisburg location we moved on to Kara’s parent’s home which was located in Mechanicsburg, PA at the intersection of Lambs Gap and Bali Hai roads.  The Cumberland Valley School District is constructing a new middle and elementary school on their land now.   The large farm had apparently been in Kara’s family for generations.   She wanted to make sure to get some photographs of her and her husband to be at the place where she grew up so that she could keep these memories of being here alive.Kara & Henry Harrisburg Engagement Central Pa wedding photographer Mechanicsburg pa wedding photographerKara & Henry Harrisburg Engagement Central Pa wedding photographer York wedding photographersKara & Henry Harrisburg Engagement Central Pa wedding photographer York pa wedding photographersKara & Henry Harrisburg Engagement Central Pa wedding photographer Mechanicsburg wedding photographers “District officials said they believe the land is ideal since it is centrally located in the district and large enough to accommodate buildings to address increasing enrollment numbers that have caused overcrowding concerns for some time now. Officials reported CV student population increased by 1,058 since the 2007-08 school year, more than 700 of them since 2011-12. The district currently has an enrollment of 8,300 students. The new middle school will replace the current Good Hope Middle School on Skyport Road and will have room for 1,400 students.” By Tricia Kline | Special to PennLive on March 16, 2015 at 8:27 PMKara & Henry Harrisburg Engagement Central Pa wedding photographer Harrisburg pa wedding photographerKara & Henry Harrisburg Engagement Central Pa wedding photographer Harrisburg pa wedding photographersUpon hearing of this news I was personally saddened as well.  I have driven by this farm so many times and have always appreciated the beautiful view while daydreaming about all the stunning images i would create if given the chance to photograph there.  Well I finally did and I feel honored that I could be the one to capture Kara & Henry’s engagement session at what is now a piece of history.
